The giant is once again sleeping, it seems.  America is being run by self interested paranoid war mongers who know that they can do anything that they please because they know that the people here will not oppose them.  We pay taxes for them to have jobs, and that money has built the most powerful nation-state in world history, and the indifference of the most americans toward the rest of the world is second only to the indifference of most Americans toward what our Government decides is best for us.  People would rather play golf or watch mindless sitcoms than get involved in a discussion about national issues. 

 

As the old saying goes, 'never talk politics or religion'.  Comfort is the ruling party, and only those things that disturb the comfortably numb flocks from their blissfully ignorant existance arrouse a response from the comatoased American Society.  

 

Apathy is the most dangerous enemy Democracy, and to American Interests.  Where is the 'War on American Apathy?'  We seem to think that going to war is the solution to all threats , foreign and domestic. 

 

Who will lead us out of this darkness, and back into the light?  Are we doomed to fail because we have failed to overcome the problems that have plagued mankind since the begging?
