Happy 4th of July America 2008

Happy 4th of July America!  It is our celebration of our national identity, our day of Freedom!  Independence from the tyranny of King George, and a new government based upon the idea that all men are of the same flesh.. "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal", as Thomas Jefferson so eloquently wrote in the declaration of independence.  To be or not to be? Or perhaps, Know they Self?  What is an American, or what is it to be an American?  Is it privilege?  Is is wealth and beauty?  Is it mystique or mere fascination?  Once upon a time we viewed our selves as a "benevolent America". Once upon a time we were the champions of good.  Once upon a time we were a nation to be envied.  What on earth has happened to us?  Why are we a people of peace, and yet our biggest industries are those who produce the machines of war?  How can we be the land of the free, yet we have more prisons and people in them than any other nation on earth?  How can we be the wealthiest nation in the history of mankind, and also have the greatest amount of debt at the same time?  Why are so many of us painfully silent about our views and opinions?  With freedom comes responsibility.  First and foremost, it is our responsibility to be certain that our freedoms are protected and uninhibited.  This our duty.  Happy Birthday America.

    Irony in America

America is known around the world as the land of opportunity, and here many of us think our country is the land of the free.  And now in this modern digital age of instant communication and global interconnectivity our view of our selves and each other has changed in ways that no one could or can predict.  Yet in the corners of this new paradigm, seething in the shadows of our sky scrappers and monuments to the intelligencia from our past, there roams a presence of pure filth and evil that betrays all who have worked for the betterment of mankind.  The popular belief in the dawn of this technocratic society is the belief in the myth of mankind;  that we are an inherantly good nature creatures, and that given the chance, the individual will choose to do what is right and virtuious.  The dream of a better world for all has become nothing short of pornographic, and  our values as a whole are more perversions then virtue's.  Despite of all of our successes in overcoming the incredible odds that our species has had to overcome, in spite of the endless volumes of the written record that has become our history. This,  the long storyed history of humanities struggle against himself and all who oppose his will  to dominate.

    Peace: A Catalyst for War

It seems like peace is a catalyst for war.  The longer we are at peace, the closer we get to conflict.
Peace is unprofitable, at least it is when compared to the cost of war.  Wars require incredible amounts
of investment into resources of every kind, both man and machine(technology) costing trillions upon
trillions of dollars.  What do we get for all that is spent, indeed, what have we gotten for what we have
already paid?  The answer it seems is Peace, at least at first.  But the reality is that in the end our money
has bought us only a few brief moments in the sun.  The power to dominate another is an intoxicating
drug, and the drive to stay sharp and ahead of the field requires an ever present sharpening of the axe.
Thus an ideal military machine is a machine that will either implode on itself in times of peace, or will
seek out an enemy to prove its readiness and capability.  Ultimately the greater enemy is not the opponent
on the battlefield, but rather the lack of  an enemy all together. In the absence of an enemy, the justification
for a strong military machine is diminished. Thus, during times of peace, war becomes the object of
obsession, and a perversion of the sacred trust between a people and it's leaders.  To ensure it's survival
the military machine must make war, because peace is counter productive.

    Work work Work Work Work......

Sometimes in life one must loose something important, before a full appreciation for that thing can be claimed.

In my lifetime, I have lost just about every material possession that I have ever possessed.  I have lost friends, relationships, and  plenty of opportunites along the way.  And with regard to all of these things I have many good and bad memories to remind me.

So as I continue down this new path, almost affraid to acknoledge that maybe the worst of the hard times is really over, and happy to have a job.  Who knows what the future holds, but atleast from where I am things appear to be going in the right direction.  And maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to keep all 4 cylinders firing at once long enough to actually get somewhere instead of nowhere.  It's frustraiting to feel like you are repeating the same things over and again.  But I guess that's how the cookie crumbles.

    Technological Illusion

I wonder if it has occured to anyone that perhaps our so called hi-tech society is not everything so many of us like  to think.  No instead what if our technology is, atleast in  some circles, astoundingly more advanced then anyone ever dreamed of.  I would argue that if that is/were indeed the case, simply by controlling what of that new science is shared with the rest of the public domain, one could therby control everything and everybody almost effortlessly.  For instance, if a group of scientist were able to device a means to prolong human life indefinetly, then instead of sharing the discovery they kept it for themselves. in time they would through length of life and experience become the ultimate masters of humanity, having developed their personalities and understanding of human psychology to a point that they could dominate the rest of us through charisma and deception.  Then imagine that these same people were extremelly wealthy.  They would eventually dominate the finacial systems of the world with their infulence.  With their extreme wealth, they could then finance themselves into the top leadership roles of the major world governments, militaries ,universities, and corporations. Finally, they would be in a position to dominate all of the technological breakthroughs that is brought about by these institutions.  Having that in thier control, no one could question their dominance or challenge their rule.  Nothing would be desimminated to the rest of us, that was not first approved first by them.  All the while, these institutions could preach the propaganda to us all glorifying our so called advancements, all the while ignorant of the things that are invisible all around us in the way of real advancement.  I know this all seems far fetched, and it probably is pretty out there.  But are there any examples of seemingly mysterious phenomina that have been witnessed by many, that Government and People who should know about  those things have dissmissed, but continue to occur with an increasing rate of frequency?  I can think of many examples.  And I am not suggesting that what I stated earlier is indeed something that has/is going on.  I said all of that to paint a picture about control, to inspire someone else's imagination to think outside of the box for a second, and to see things from a different point of view.  to be continued......

    waiting for....

Well, a lot can change in a year, and then again things don't ever really change.
If that makes any sense, lol.

I am really hopeful that things will work out in a positive way.
That would be great, really great.

The end of a hard week

    TGIF like a mutha.....

I survived it, and now it's time for the weekend. I really need some R and R.

The future seems to be bright for a change, and I just hope things continue to
move forward as it has. I am really hopeful that this could be the real deal.
I know it will be, but I just hope I really do get to be a part of it.

    Wish me luck

    Time flies

Time Flies by.  A year can pass like a second sometimes.
Sometimes it can be in slow motion, and every other year
seems too far to come.  What would be gained from
living 3 or 10 times more than our  of these years?

Just having a weird thought, ha!

Lame duck Congress, That really sounds promising.
    how bout Lame Duck president?

    The Fax from hell

    Wow,

If you or someone you know is too old or too hard headed to get with the program by using email instead of faxing documents, then you might be an OLD FUCK!!!!!

Seriously, I have spent the better part of the last 18 hours troubleshooting an HP all in one Fax/Printer/Bullshitter so that we (the company I am doing some Consulting work for) could send out several hundreds of pages of documents to a guy in the UK who refuses to go 'high-tech' and set up an email account!!!!!  And of course in the process of all of this chaos, I found myself batteling the ever present lag of old and out dated computer hardware which is why this process has taken the better part of the last 18 hours!!!!

    It's miller time.

    Interesting New Therapy for MS

I found this interesting to drug that is being used to treat MS in the UK.
It is made from Goats blood, and is helping people with MS to see better.
It works by somehow reduces the inflammtion around the optic nerve in patients with MS,
and is said to possibly be useful for people with Rhuemetoid Arthritis  and other
genetic conditions associated with inflammation in the body.  here is the link

    http://www.davalinternational.com/index%5Ffiles/

and here is a link to a BBC News article about the drug 'Aimspro'

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4370169.stm

It is interesting to me how this drug is made from Goats blood.  I wonder what other drugs
to treat disease can be made from animal blood for use in humans?

    A small Glimpse of Life

Sitting Back for a moment trying to catch a glimpse, if only for a second or two, the simple life.
One that for it's time, is exactly the way we always wanted life to be.  Sometimes for a moment, thats just how it actually is.  And in a low whisper, quietly, I even say out loud to myself, "thanks".  And only God and me know it to be that way, though that hardly mattered as much as the moment itself.

Gratefull for this proof of life, a gold foil seal stakmped inot eternity, my reflection streteches inot oblivion as anotgher day marches forward and me an ymy moment melt inot the infinite moments churning in the endless ravel of time and space.

    So What?

You know I think a lot, always have something on my mind I guess.
And I realize that the prize is not always where it's at, but instead all
the action is in the chase.  Said another way, sometimes you gotta lose
before you come in with the big win.  Someone said change isn't easy, and
I say Easy ain't never been good.  Peep That.....

Wow, I really love the new layout here.  Is really cool.
Well anyway, I guess you could say im feeling a little bummed.
But thats the way life goes sometimes, you have ups and downs.
I think I am really just feeling sorry for myself a little bit, but I don't
know.  I do know that it only takes times to get past things like
this, and I have done this a hundred times before.  So onward I go......
